Founder Story

Holy Shrine Incenses is the brainchild of Mrs Ujjwala, a lady of great grit and determination. Despite life offering her multiple setbacks, she did not give up but kept her determination to add and create value in the lives of others. Having lost her elder son who was just 16, getting divorced after 28 years of marriage, caring for totally bedridden parents and a mentally challenged brother, she did not lose hope. Determined to create a positive impact in the lives of rural women who needed work, specially abled children who need livelihood skills and with a determination as a Bodhisattva of the Earth to protect the environment she came up with the idea of collecting the flowers which would otherwise pollute the River Gomti in Lucknow.
By recycling these flowers, a win-win situation is created which solves the problems of waste management, skilling, and employment generation. Mrs Ujjwala also runs a school. There exists a huge gap in vocational and skill development trainings in all schools in India. Sensing this vast lacuna between the need for skill development modules in schools and their availability,  she has devised a” Do It Yourself” DIY incense making module for classes 6,7 and 8 as required through Holy Shrine Educatives, a skilling vertical of Holy Shrine Incenses. She spends her day overseeing education of children, getting incense made from recycled flowers and promoting skill development. It is her passion and mission to empower the specially abled children too. She has been awarded on many forums for her meaningful contribution to society. Thus Holy Shrine Incenses celebrates women entrepreneurship, rural women empowerment, recycling, inclusion and livelihood generating skill development. You are warmly invited to be a part of this beautiful journey.
